10 Somatic Reflection Questions on Trust (Psalm 9:10)
- When you think about the word “trust,” where do you feel a response in your physical body?
- If you scan your body right now, where are you holding tension or worry about the future?
- What is one muscle (like your jaw or shoulders) that you can intentionally relax right now as a physical sign of trusting God?
- When you take three slow, deep breaths, how does your body’s sense of safety change?
- What physical posture, such as sitting with open hands or resting your feet flat on the floor, helps you feel most grounded in God’s presence?
- If you place your hand gently over your heart, what do you notice about your heart rate when you repeat Psalm 9:10?
- What makes your body feel physically safe, calm, and ready to rest today?
- When you feel the urge to control a situation, do you notice your breathing becoming faster or shallower?
- Can you notice the physical sensation of the chair supporting you, and use it as a reminder that God is holding you?
- What is one gentle, comforting thing you can do for your physical body today to practice resting in God’s care?
Prayer: Lord, thank You that Your name is a safe place for both my mind and body to rest. When I am holding onto stress or fear, gently remind me that I can fully trust in You. Help me to unclench my jaw, drop my shoulders, and release my need for control with every deep breath I take. Allow my nervous system to feel the physical safety of Your presence today, settling my entire being into Your unfailing peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I posted this in hopes it would help someone who didn’t have a Bible handy. I love proverbs 3:5&6 and how it also says to trust in the Lord. Learning to trust in him in any and ALL circumstances can actually help with anxiety I know because that’s what has proven to help with me. I love the hardworking and dedication you had done here!
