Hey there, I’m Sierra. A LMSW and previous trauma Therapist who loves jesus!

yes, you can ethically incorporate your faith into your mental health journey.

My name is Sierra Stratman, MSW, LMSW, PhD Student with a deep-seated passion for the intersection of clinical neuroscience and Biblical wisdom.

I created this space for the Christian community looking for educational material that explores mental health topics. Here, we explore how to “renew your mind” (Romans 12:2) using both the Word of God and the latest insights from psychological research.

When I first began my therapy training, I was met with such conflicting options on whether one could incorporate biblical wisdom into the clinical setting ethically. Spoiler alert: you CAN!

There is very little guidance for providers and individuals that want to explore educational material about mental health and christianity. However, I have found a beautiful and ethical balance between psychology and spiritual truth. Over time I have see radical healing through prayer, scripture, evidence based modalities and the presence of Christ. It has not only been powerful to witness, but undeniably a beautiful combination.

I have currently taken a step back from therapy to focus on my PhD studies to better educate myself on how to ethically incorporate the Christian faith in psychology.

PhD Student at Liberty University: I am a current Theology of Psychology Student learning how to deepen my understanding of scripture and psychology to provide educational insight to the Christian community pertaining to mental health care.
Biblical Integration: My work is centered on a Christian worldview, providing a safe space for those who want to incorporate their faith into their mental wellness journey.

Why I Started This Blog

In my journey as a previous therapist and a believer, I realized that many people feel they have to choose between “mental health care” and “faith.” I am here to show you that you don’t have to choose and there is room for both Christ and psychology.

Even during my early years of training, my work centered heavily around trauma focused care and christianity. I’ve gained experience in inpatient settings, worked with active duty military populations, and specialized in trauma therapy in private practice — all while learning how to ethically integrate each client’s Christian faith, honoring their right to self-determination.
