Welcome New Friends!

Handwriting a welcome card with calligraphy on craft paper, surrounded by art supplies.

Hello everyone! I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for joining me on this journey. If you are a new subscriber, WELCOME! I post a new blog every week and if I am feeling extra spunky – I try to post twice a week.

If you don’t know much about me, let me reintroduce myself. Hi, my name is Sierra Stratman, and I am a LMSW and PhD student at Liberty University. My therapy practice focuses on trauma informed care that incorporates the biblical faith (which has been so awesome!). As a PhD student I hope to focus my studies on theology of psychology, which will allow me to deepen my understanding of the Christian faith and psychology. So, freaking cool!

My goal of this blog is to have good deep conversations about faith and mental health. I have found it very difficult to find a community of likeminded therapist who enjoy therapy and Jesus. Many of my post will focus on the hard conversations of navigating one’s mental health journey from the biblical lens. I also post resources with each blog including journal reflection prompts or biblical counseling worksheets for therapist. Which you can find here!

I appreciate each and every one of you for joining me along this journey! Whether you are a faith-based therapist or a Christian just looking to get a better understanding of their mental health, thank you for being here. I hope to build a strong community for all of us!

I hope you all have the most best and blessed day!

Sierra Stratman MSW LMSW

  1. Thanks Sierra, I’m new here 🙂 I am a LPC Therapist in Arkansas. I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, back when they had a license-based counseling program. In my program, I got about half of an M.Div and all of the counseling coursework. I use my faith everyday with my clients at the Rice Clinic in Little Rock, AR. I look forward to your posts and our discussions.
May God continue to bless you,
    David

    1. That is so cool! I look forward to seeing you finish your degree! Such a great program as well.
