A Little Help During The Hardest Days…
Even as a therapist, I have had my fair share of days where feeling as if I was down in the dumps was an understatement. I won’t be lying saying I have it all together 100% of the time. We’ve all had those weeks where feeling down in the dumps is an understatement and just getting out of bed feels like a task far too great. Whether you’re feeling anxious, totally burnt out, or just stuck in a fog, sometimes the bare minimum is all we can give, and that is completely okay.
To combat those harder seasons, I created a Mental Health Emergency Kit. It’s basically my secret weapon for the days when I have zero energy to even give myself but still want to feel human. I’m showing you exactly what I keep in mine (everything is super affordable!) so you can build your own ‘low-energy’ toolkit and start feeling like yourself again.
Waterless Hygiene
- Body Wipes – These large, no-rinse wipes let you feel fresh and clean without having to face the energy-drain of a full shower.
- Dry Shampoo Powder – A quick way to soak up oil and add volume to your hair so you feel more like yourself on low-energy days.
- Travel Deodorant – This tiny stick is easy to keep right by your bed for a quick, effortless refresh.
Quick Oral Care
- Disposable Mini Toothbrushes – These come pre-pasted and don’t need water, making it easy to keep your smile healthy from the comfort of your bed.
- Mouthwash Packets – These alcohol-free strips dissolve instantly to give you fresh breath and a clean feeling with almost zero effort.
Face & Body Comfort
- Unscented Lotion Bundle – A gentle, non-irritating way to moisturize your skin and practice a small moment of self-care.
- Moisturizing Lip Balms – Keeping your lips hydrated is a small but powerful way to stay comfortable while you rest.
- Pocket Tissues – Soft tissues kept within reach for those moments when you just need a good, prayerful cry.
- Sunscreen Packets – A simple way to protect your skin if you manage to sit outside for a few minutes of fresh air and sunlight.
Hair & Style Hacks
- Folding Hair Brush – This compact brush has a built-in mirror so you can gently detangle your hair without needing to stand at a vanity.
- Cotton Hair Ties – These seamless bands keep your hair out of your face, which can really help reduce sensory overwhelm when you’re feeling low.
- Mini Lint Roller – A fast way to tidy up your lounge clothes or bedding so your environment feels a little more peaceful.
The “Just in Case” Tools
- Stain Treater Wipes – These let you quickly clean up any spills or spots on your clothes or sheets without having to deal with a full load of laundry.
- Mini First-Aid Kit – A tiny case with the essentials for minor care, keeping everything you might need organized in one spot.
- Hanging Toiletry Bag – The perfect way to store all these items together so they can hang right on your bedframe or door for easy access.
