The following reflection questions are based on Psalm 30:5

Psalm 30:5
“Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”

What is one thing you know is true about God even when you feel sad?

How does it help to know that God stays close to you while you cry?

What is one tiny bit of light you saw in your day today?

Can you think of another hard time in your life that eventually got better?

What is one way you can help your body rest tonight?

How can you be more gentle with yourself when you feel tired?

If you talked to God about your tears right now what would you say?

What is one song or verse that makes you feel a little safer?

Who is one friend you can talk to when things feel too heavy?

Is it okay to let yourself feel sad without trying to force a smile?

How does it feel to know that Gods love for you never ends?

What is one small thing you can do for yourself when you wake up?

How can you ask God to be with you in the quiet parts of your night?

What is one worry you can give to God before you go to sleep?

What are three simple things that usually make you feel happy?

How does it help to remember that Jesus also felt deep sadness?

What can you do tonight to make sure your heart has space to rest?

When you look at the night sky how does it remind you that God is big?

What is one small thing you can do to show you believe things will get better?

How can you thank God for being your safe place to land today?

Prayer: Dear God, Thank You for being a safe place for me to land today. When my heart feels heavy and my mind is loud, I ask for Your peace that passes all understanding. Please quiet my worries and help me to rest in the truth that You are in control. I give You my stress, my tears, and my exhaustion. Thank You for loving me exactly as I am, even when I don’t feel strong. Guide my steps today and remind me that I never have to walk alone. Amen.

  1. A verse that makes me feel better is Jeremiah 29;11 because it gives me hope and I know for a fact that he has a plan for my future. When things get tough I usually lean on God he is my strength and friend and the only true friend I can rely on for solid Godly advice and wisdom. When I look outside and see Gods beautiful creation it gives me hope and joy and peace. I like to think if I just have faith as a mustard seed I can say to this mountain move and it will in Jesus name. I think that God is bigger than all my problems and it truly shifts my way of thinking. God conquered death so if he can do that, make the blind see, get water from a rock, part the sea he can handle my little problems and that gives me hope!
